Weaving

Service Description

Students will learn everything about weaving from start to finish, and will leave the class with their very own woven art piece in hand! Students will first learn how to string a loom and the tension necessary to create a solid base for their weave. Hannah will then teach several weaving techniques, including the hemstitch, tabby weave, soumak weave, and rya knot techniques. Students will use these weaving techniques to then fill their loom with whatever design, color and texture they would like. Every weave is unique! At the end, Hannah will teach the students how to finish their project and take it off of the loom, and how to add the finishing touches so that the weave stays sturdy. Lots of tips and tricks will be provided throughout the class so students will leave with all the skills necessary to create many more weaving projects in the future.
