Create your first woven art
Service Description
Students will learn everything about weaving from start to finish, and will leave the class with their very own woven art piece in hand! Students will first learn how to string a loom and the tension necessary to create a solid base for their weave. Hannah will then teach several weaving techniques, including the hemstitch, tabby weave, soumak weave, and rya knot techniques. Students will use these weaving techniques to then fill their loom with whatever design, color and texture they would like. Every weave is unique! At the end, Hannah will teach the students how to finish their project and take it off of the loom, and how to add the finishing touches so that the weave stays sturdy. Lots of tips and tricks will be provided throughout the class so students will leave with all the skills necessary to create many more weaving projects in the future. What you’ll get All materials are included in this workshop, including different varieties and colors of yarn and roving wool. Cancellation Policy
Cancelation policy: If you cannot be present at your lesson, please notify us no later than one week (!) before the start by e-mail (Info@shaggies-amsterdam.com). If you need to cancel between seven days and 24 hours before, your booking can be transferred to another date, subject to availability, with a maximum 2 reschedules. Cancellations made within 24 hours of the workshop can’t be refunded or rescheduled, as materials and preparation will already be in place.
