Cloth Carpet Grippers for DIY Tufting Frame
If you are going to build your own tufting frame, you will need these carpet grippers—also known as tack strips or gripper strips. The carpet grippers are strips of wood that contain backwards facing sharp nails which hold your fabric in place while you tuft (you will always want your fabric to be drum tight, and these carpet grippers are what holds your fabric in place tightly!).
Each strip measures 30cm and costs €1.00 per piece, making them an affordable option for DIY tufting projects. Each strip comes with built-in forward facing nails for you to use to fixate your strips into the sides of your frame using a hammer.
They are easily to cut down to any size you need, making them versatile to fit any size frame you want to build.
Tip: make sure that the nails of the carpet grippers are facing outwards, so that they grip your cloth. If they are facing inwards towards the frame, your cloth will fall off the nails.
